How Sourav Mukherjee Turned His Tragedy into Triumph as a Pro Photographer
Sourav Mukherjee is not just a photographer, he is a living example of courage, resilience and creativity. He is India's first physically challenged pro fashion, lifestyle and art photographer, who has overcome a life-changing accident to pursue his passion and excel in his field.
From Aviator to Photographer
Sourav Mukherjee was born into a business family in South Kolkata and had a bright future ahead of him. He completed his education from prestigious institutions such as Wynberg Allen School, Mussoorie and St. Thomas’ Boy’s School, Kolkata before earning his B.Sc.IT degree from Manipal Academy of Higher Education.
He then fulfilled his dream of working in the aviation industry, rising rapidly through the ranks at Galileo India Pvt Ltd and eventually serving as a core inflight crew of the at Air Sahara and Jet Airways.
However, in 2015, his life took a tragic turn when he lost his right leg above the knee in an accident. He was forced to quit his job and reevaluate his life's purpose.
Finding His Calling in Photography
Instead of giving up on his dreams, Sourav decided to reinvent himself as a professional fashion, lifestyle, editorial and art photographer. He taught himself the skills and techniques of photography and started his own venture, the Lenzsation Academy of Photography.
Through his lens, he captures the beauty, elegance and emotions of his subjects, ranging from models, celebrities, events and art forms. He has a unique style and vision that sets him apart from other photographers in the industry.
He has also received numerous national and international awards and recognitions for his work, such as:

Sharing His Knowledge and Inspiration with Others
Sourav is not only a talented photographer, but also a generous teacher and mentor. He believes that photography is for everyone and wants to share his knowledge and experience with others who are interested in learning the art.
He has conducted over 700 photography workshops and trained more than 3,500 photo enthusiasts through his initiative, Lenzsation Academy of Photography. He also runs a studio for all photography and video shooting needs in Kolkata.
Sourav's incredible journey serves as an inspiration to all who face challenges and obstacles in life. His story reminds us that even in the most difficult circumstances, with determination, honesty and perseverance, we can overcome adversity and achieve greatness.
